We are extremely excited to announce our first release !!! Originally recorded as an LP in 1978 in an extremely small quantity, this album is one that has been begging for a proper release for over 4 decades...
The National Press and Allied Workers' Jazz Band Inc., was formed by various members of national Canadian media, alongside others from information departments in the government, and others around the city of Ottawa.
The Band was in constant demand for concerts and charity benefits around the globe. Thanks to their musical genius, incisive and clever political satire, and unique musical arrangements, they enjoyed recognition as a first-class entertainment package.
Fans of Nickelodeon's hugely successful show in the 80's and 90's, "You Can't Do That on Television", will recognize track number 3, for this is the original version of that show's theme song in its extended version.
The latest mastering techniques were used in remastering this recording. Since the best available source was the LP record itself, (the master magnetic recording is long gone...) we were careful not to muddy up the sound and harmonics by de-clicking and de-popping every anomaly on the LP. Therefore, some surface noise and other anomalies inherent with LP's can still be heard. We think you will be very impressed by the clarity, stereo separation, and the feeling of actually attending this grand performance...
We are offering this album only on CD, as the CD still offers the best sound quality and long-term durability.
Available exclusively from the Workers History Museum: workershistorymuseum.ca
